Knit with soft and bulky 100% wool in Julie Asselin's Douillet base, this bag uses a clever woven-texture technique that allows it to stand tall on its own. And this project comes with a bonus gift - you'll get a little yarn cozy too that you can use to snugly secure your yarn. Each kit comes with 2 plump skeins of Douillet (non-treated Rambouillet + Columbia wool) in your choice of color, plus 2 beads and cotton twill ties for finishing the basket, and of course, the workshop-style pattern in Knitrino's friendly format: Watch videos for every stitch & technique, see charts in your yarn colors, highlight & save your place, and more. Construction Notes: Both sizes are knit in the round from the bottom up. You'll start with just a few stitches on double pointed needles (DPNs) or your preferred method for working small circumferences. For the large basket, as your base gets large enough, you'll switch to fixed circulars. At the top, you'll work the first half of the stitches back & forth for a few rows, insert the tie, then graft the edge to the basket on the inside. Safekeep keeps your yarn and your project cozy! (Note: To avoid yarn chicken, we recommend weighing your yarn at the start, and if you have at least 230 g, make your yarn cozy first.
